BCU is seeking to appoint an experienced candidate who holds a JNC recognised qualified in Youth Work with the skills to make the newly validated BA (Hons) Youth Work and Communities programme a nationally and internationally recognised course within three years. The successful candidate will have significant experience of working in youth and community settings, strong academic skills in organising and delivering learning and teaching, experience of working with diverse communities and building local partnerships. As a Senior Lecturer the successful candidate will work with colleagues across the School of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Business, Law and Social Sciences, as well as youth and community organisations in Birmingham and the West Midlands, to develop a successful and sustainable curriculum and expand Youth Work provision at BCU.

External Examiner (Fieldwork) required at Birmingham City University (BCU)

BCU are are seeking to appoint an External Examiner (Fieldwork) for its new BA Youth Work and Communities. This course is based within the School of Social Sciences, Faculty of Business, Law, and Social Sciences. The position requires the external examiner to hold a senior post in a field-based organization, to hold a JNC recognized professional qualification in Youth and Community Work, to have experience of working in a diverse, multi-ethnic environment, and to have an understanding and commitment to the process of professional validation. The appointment will commence September 2021 and the tenure of appointments is usually for a period of four years.
