As part of National Youth Work Week on the 5th November 2020 between 4.00pm and 6.00pm colleagues from Hull and Bolton are holding an online discussion for lecturers and researchers in youth and community work; and for students on undergraduate and postgraduate youth and community programmes. The discussion will focus on why we are ambitious for youth work. It is also an opportunity for people teaching and studying in youth and community to connect with each other across the north of England.
This short online conference will be an open discussion about our collective ambitions and perspectives on the future of youth and community work. Key questions will be:
What contribution does higher education make to our ambitions for youth work?
What is working well in courses focussed on youth and community work education?
What are the issues that higher education must address to remain ambitious for youth work?
How can we speak louder and clearer in higher education about the value of youth work?
We welcome participation from students, academics and researchers that are actively engaged in youth and community work related courses across the north of England.
Please sign up using the Eventbrite registration system and full joining instructions, via Zoom, will be provided 24 hours in advance of the event.
